Winter Angel

This tutorial was written by me on 19 Decemeber 2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the stunning artwork of Jennifer Janesko. I bought this tube when CILM was still open. You can find her at CDO now.
Scrapkit. I am using the awesome freebie scrap add on to Winter Wonderland by Ali. You can download this beauty from Ali's blog here
Template 80 made by me which you can download here
Font of choice. I used Boulevard (pay font)

Eyecandy 4000 - HSB Noise
Animation Shop (opt)
No other supplies needed

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the bracket layer. Go to selections > select. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray bracket layer.
Highlight the fill 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the dark gray fill 1 layer.
Highlight the fill 2 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up another paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the black fill 2 layer.
Highlight the icy frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Pull the new layer under the icy frame layer. Floodfill the new layer with a color of choice. Deselect. Highlight the icy frame layer and change the blend mode to Luminance (legacy) Give the icy frame layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.
Highlight dotted flake layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 1, Opacity 35, Blur 1.00. Delete the gray dotted flake layer.
Highlight the flake fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize, 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Go to adjust > add/remove noise > add noise. Random and Monochrome checked. Value set at 8.00. Delete the gray flake fill layer.
Highlight the flake frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice. Resize by 79%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Apply noise, same settings as before. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 1, Opacity 45, Blur 2.00. Delete the gray flake frame layer.
Highlight the 3 snowflakes 1 layer. Colorize to your liking and give them a drop shad of H 1, V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 2.00. Repeat the same steps with the 3 snowflaks 2 layer.
Open up a flower of choice. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Position the flower in the middle of the snowflake. (see my tag for reference)
Open up a bow of choice. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the bow. Go to image > mirror. Position the bows to your liking on the icy frame.
Open up snowflake 4 from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give the snowflake a drop shadow of H 1, V 1, Opacity 25, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the snowflake. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position one on the bottom right corner of the bracket. Position the other in the left upper corner of the bracket. (see my tag for reference)
Open up Star 1 from the kit. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give them a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the stars. Go to image > mirror. Position them on top of the snowflakes (see my tag for reference)
Open up another flower from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 8.00. Duplicate the flower. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position one in the right upper corner of the bracker, and the other in the left bottom corner. Drag both flower layers beneath your bracket layer. (see my tag for reference)
Highlight the top layer. Open up snowflake 2 from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give them a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the snowflake. Go to image > mirror. Then, image >flip. Position them over the flowers.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers.
Unhide your white background and highlight it. Open up Snowflake 5 from the kit. Don't resize. Duplicate the snowflake 3 times for a total of 4. Position the snowflakes, so the edges are peeking out from behind the tag. (see my tag for reference) Hide your merged layer and your white background. Merge your snowflake layers together.
Unhide your layers. Highlight the merged snowflake layer. Open up doodle 2 from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Mura Meister Copies with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 2.00.
Highlight your top layer. Open up your tube. Resize as needed, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give your tube a drop shadow H -3, V -3, Opacity 40, Blur 6.00. Position your tube to your liking.
Crop and resize if you wish.
Add your copyright info, watermark and text.
If you are not animating, then save as JPG or PNG. If you are animating, highlight your merged snowflake layer. Apply Eyecandy 4000. HSB Noise with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 6.00. Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go to edit > undo drop shadow. Edit > undo HSB Noise. Apply HSB Noise again but this time, hit the random seed button. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 6.00. Copy merged and paste after your current frame in AS.
Repeat the above steps 3 more times so you have a total of 5 frames.
Select all frames (CTRL+A) Change the frame properties to 13.
Optimize and save as gif.
