Twisted Diva

This tutorial was written by me on 4 May 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube and Close up of choice. I am using the stunning artwork of Jennifer Janesko. I purchased this tube when CILM was still open. You can get her art at CDO now.

Template 154 made by me which you can download here.
UF Mask 6 by sunf. You can download this mask, and lots of goodies at her blog here.
Font of choice. I used Goca Logotype which you can download here.
Plugins:
Xero Filters - Bad Dream XL
Penta Filters - VTR 2
DSB Flux - Bright Noise

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the splat layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Add a new raster layer. Choose a dark color and make it your foreground. Choose a light color and make it your background. Floodfill the new layer with your foreground (dark) color. Deselect. (CTRL+D). Apply Penta Filters VTR 2 with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Oapcity 75, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray splats layer.
Highlight the splat divas layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Choose a light color from your tube. Floodfil the new layer with the light color. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00. Delete the black splat divas layer.
Highlight the 2 rectangles layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Choose another dark color that matches your tube and make it your foreground. Make your background color black. Floodfill the new layer with your foreground color. Deselect. Apply VTR 2, same settings. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 8.00. Delete the 2 black rectangles.
Highlight the middle rectangle layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Keep your foreground color the same, but change your background color to white. Floodfill the new layer with your foreground color. Deselect. Apply Penta VTR 2 with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 10.00. Delete the black middle rectangle layer.
Highlight the horizontal rectangles layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up background 4 from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 6.00. Delete the gray horizontal rectangles layer.
Open up the deco dangler from the kit. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Positoin one in the center of the top horizontal rectangle, and the other in the center of the bottom horizontal rectangle.
Highlight the squares layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up background 11 from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet.
Open up your close up. Resize so it fits into one of the squares, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within ONE of the squares. Hit delete. Deselect. Apply Xero Bad Dream XL with the following settings:
Change the blend mode of the tube to screen and lower the opacity to about 50. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position in the opposite square.
Highlight the small divas layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with black. Deselect. Apply DSB FLux Bright Noise with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00. Delete the white small divas layer.
Highlight the Big Diva layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up Background 4 from the kit again. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up your main tube. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position so that the face is within the diva selection. Hit delete. Mirror your tube. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position so that the face is within the diva selection. Repeat until you have done this with all the letters. Deselect. Merge the diva tube layers together. Appy Xero Bad Dream XL with the following settings:
Repeat. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 2.00. Highlight the paper Diva layer. Give it a drop shadow of H 3, V -2, Opacity 75, Blur 4.00. Delete the gray Big Diva layer.
Open up a bow from the kit. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 4.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the rectangles.
Open up a flower from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. DUplicate. Position them to your liking.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Add a new raster layer. Choose a color from your tube or tag and make it your foreground. Floodfill the new layer with your foreground color. Apply UF Mask 6 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask.
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Apply Xero Bad Dream XL with the following settings:
Choose another color from your tag or tube. Make it your background. Apply Penta VTR 2 with the following settings:
Duplicate your mask. On the bottom mask layer, go to adjust > blur > gaussian blur. Apply with a radius of 15. Apply VTR 2, same settings. Highlight your top tube layer and give it a drop shadow of H 4, V -3, Opacity 55, Blur 3.00.
Highlight your squares layer. Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position in the center of the squares behind the V. Duplicate your tube. Drag the top tube layer above your tube DIVA layer. Give the top tube a drop shadow of H -4, V -2, Opacity 45, Blur 8.00.
Highlight your bottom tube and give it a drop shadow of H 5, V -3, Opacity 35, Blur 6.00. Highlight your top tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size 30, Opacity 80. Carefully erase the part of the tube covering the V. Also erase any part of the tube that is covering the I. (see my tag above for reference)
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text.
Save as JPG or PNG.
