Tainted Cutie

This tutorial was written by me on 13 December 2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
3 tubes of choice. I am using the fantastic artwork of Deacon Black. I bought this tube when CILM was still open. I don't know where you can find his work now, so just use a tube that you like instead.
Scrapkit. I am using the awesome scrap Tainted by Scraps with Attitude. If you wish to purchase this scrap, you can here. Thank you Missy!!

Pd Screw. I got this through a yahoo group. If it belongs to you, let me know so I can credit you properly or take it out of my supplies.
Font of choice. I used Smack LET Plain (pay font)
Plugins:
Eyecandy 4000 Corona
Xenofex 2 - Crumple
L and K's Filters - Zitah
Animation Shop (opt)

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the crumpled rectangles layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray crumpled rectangles.
Highlight the crumpled small circle 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blut 8.00. Delete the crumpled smal circle 1 layer.
Highlight the crumpled small circle 1 layer and repeat all the steps you did with the small crumpled circle 1 layer.
Highlight the big crumpled circle 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > Invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the big crumpled circle 1 layer.
Highlight the big crumpled circle 2 layer. Repeat all the steps you did with the big crumpled circle 1 layer.
Highlight the strips layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray strips layer.
Highlight the crumpled square layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 12.00. Delete the black crumpled square layer.
Highlight the rectangle 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Do NOT deselect yet!
Open up your first tube of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete. Change the blend mode of the tube to Luminance (Legacy) Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00.
Highlight the paper rectangle. Apply Eyecandy 4000 Corona with the following settings:
Delete the gray rectangle 1 layer.
Highlight the rectangle 2 layer. Repeat all the steps you did with the rectangle 1 layer, using a different tube.
Highlight the circles layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00. Delete the white circles.
Open up the teddy from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Xenofex crumple with the following settings:
Give the teddy a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position on the top circle of the 3 circles layer. (see my tag for reference)
Open up a clothespin from the kit. Resize by 5%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position so it looks as if it is holding the teddy in place.
Open up a pin of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Position to your liking on the square.
Open up a brad of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Position to your liking on the square.
Open up a heart pendant of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position at the bottom of your sqaure (see my tag for reference)
Open up the pd screw. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Duplicate the screw. Position in the empty spaces at the end of the heart pendant (see my tag for reference) Drag the heart pendant above your screws.
Open up a flower of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking.
Open up a binder clip of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking.
Open a bling bow of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the bow. Go to image > mirror. Position the bows to your liking on the crumpled rectangles.
Open up the beaded string. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the beaded string. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position them to your liking and drag both layers to right above your white background. (see my tag for reference)
Open up a star of choice. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the star. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking or see my tag for reference.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers. Resize your merged layer by 85%, bicubic.
Unhide and highlight your white background. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill with a color of choice. Apply vix's mask with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all mask
Delete the mask from the layer palette, answer yes and merge the group. Give the mask layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 2.00. Now give it a drop shadow of H -1, V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 2.00.
Hide your white background and merge your mask and merge layers together.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, then save as JPG, or PNG.
If you are animating, then highlight your tag (merged) layer. Apply L and K's Zitah with the following settings:
Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Save as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go to edit > undo zitah. Apply Zitah again, but this time change contro 0 to 6. Copy merged and paste after frame 1 in AS.
Back to PSP. Edit > undo zitah. Apply zitah again, but change control 0 to 7. Copy merged and paste after frame 2 in AS.
Back to PSP. Edit > undo zitah. Apply zitah again, but change control 0 to 8. Copy merged. Paste after frame 3 in AS.
You should now have 4 frames.
Optimize and save as gif.
