Butterfly Song

This tutorial was written by me on 15 December 2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the awesome artwork of Keith Garvey. I boughyt this tube when he was still with MPT. You can find him at PSP Tubes Emporium now.
Scrapkit. I am using the the beautifully colored kit Veronica by Jessica's Scraps. If you wish to purchase this great kit, you can here. Thank you, Jessica!!

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the dotted circly shape layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 91%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V -1, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00. Delete the black dotted circly shape layer.
Highlight the middle rectangle fill. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 91%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray middle rectangle fill.
Highlight the middle rectangle frame and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 30, Blur 6.00.
Highlight the 2 rectangles fill. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray 2 rectangles fill.
Highlight the 2 rectangles frame. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 6.00.
Highlight the 2 rounded rectangles. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Don't resize! Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray 2 rounded rectangles.
Highlight the scalloped circle. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 91%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray scalloped circle.
Highlight the circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 91%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray circle.
Highlight angled fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Do not deselect!
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete and deselect. Change the blend mode of the tube to Hard Light. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 8.00.
Delete the gray angled fill layer. Highlight the angled frame and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00.
Highlight your angled fill 2 layer. Repeat all the same steps you did with the angled fill layer but mirror your tube.
Give the angled frame 2 layer the same drop shadow you gave your angled frame.
Highlight the fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray fill layer.
Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance 30, feather 0.00. Click inside the 3 circles. Go to selections > modify > expand by 3.00. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Do NOT deselect!
Open up your tube, resize as necessary (bicubic). Copy and paste onto your canvas. Postion to your liking within the selection. Hit delete and deselect. Change the blend mode of the tube to Multiply. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 8.00.
Highlight the frame and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00.
Open up the curly ribbon. Resize by 55%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Give the ribbon a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking over the three frames. Highlight your circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Highlight your ribbon layer. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect.
Open up a button of choice. Resize by 55%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the button. Position them at the ends of the ribbon.
Open up flower 3 from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the flower. Go to image > mirror. Position as in my tag above.
Open up a butterfly of choice. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the butterfly. Go to image > mirror. Duplicate each butterfly one time for a total of 4. Position as in my tag above.
Open up a stalk of choice. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the stalk and mirror. Position as in my tag above.
Open up a flower of choice. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the flower and mirror. Position them at the top of the stalks.
Open up a bling bow of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Open up bling 5 from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the bling. Go to image > mirror. Duplicate the bling again. Go to image > flip. Duplicate the flipped bling. Go to image > mirror. Positon the blings as in my tag above.
Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers. Resize your merged layer by 85%, bicubic.
Unhide and highlight your white background. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply Chelle's mask with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Layer
Hide all Mask
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Apply AAA textures with the following settings:
Give your mask a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 30, Blur 6.00.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, highlight your mask layer. Apply Xero Fritillary with the following settings:
Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop and paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go to edit > undo fritillary. Apply fritillary again but this time change the variation to 63. Copy merged and paste after frame 1 in AS.
Back to PSP. Go to edit > undo fritillary. Apply fritillary again, but this time change the variation to 65. Copy merged and paste after frame 2 in AS.
Back to PSP. Edit > undo fritillary. Apply fritillary again, but change the variation to 67. Copy merged and paste after frame 3 in AS.
Optimize and save as gif.
