PostHeaderIcon Sweet Valentine

This tutorial was written by me on 29 January 2009.  Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
 
Supplies Needed:
 
2 tubes of choice.  I am using the wonderful artwork of Elias Chatzoudis. I bought this tube when he was still with MPT.  You can find his art at PSP Tubes Emporium now.

Font of choice.  I used Bonheur Royale (pay font)

Ok!  Let's get started.  Open up a new transparent image 700 x 700.  Floodfill with white.  Open up a cardboard heart frame (I used frame 3)  Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.  Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 30, feather set at 0.00.  Click inside the empty space of the frame.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 6.00.
 
Open up a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize by 74%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Go to selections > invert.  Hit delete on your keyboard.  Deselect (CTRL+D)
 
HIghlight your heart frame.  Grab your magic wand tool again, same settings.  Click inside the empty space.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 2.00.
 
Open up your main tube.  Resize as necessary, bicubic.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position to your liking within the frame.  Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 10.00.  Duplicate your tube layer.  Drag one to right below your frame layer.  The other one should be right above it.
 
Highlight your heart frame.  Grab your magic wand tool again, same settings.  Click inside the empty space.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 2.00.  Selections > invert.  Highlight your bottom tube layer.  Grab your eraser tool, size 45, opacity 100.  Erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame.  Deselect.  Give your frame a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 8.00.
 
Highlight your tube layer.  Erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame.
 
Open up a frame cluster.  (I used frame cluster 3)  Resize by 65%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position towards the bottom of the heart.
 
Grab your magic wand tool, same settings as earlier.  Click inside the empty spaces of the left and right heart.  (don't click inside the middle heart)  Open up a paper from the kit.  Resize by 74%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Do not deselect.
 
Open up your second tube of choice.  Resize as necessary, bicubic.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position to your liking within the left heart.  Hit delete and deselect.  Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00.  Duplicate.  Go to image > mirror.  Position in the right heart.  Give the frame cluster a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 4.00.
 
Open up string 2 from the kit.  Resize by 65%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  GIve it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opaicty 65, Blur 4.00.  Duplicate.  Go to image > mirror.  Position the strings towards the top of the heart frame (see my tag for reference)  Drag both string layers below your heart frame.
 
Open up a flower stem (I used flower stem 4)  Resize by 65%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give the flower s a drop shadow of H 0, V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 4.00.  Go to image > free rotate.  Rotate left by 90.00, both boxes unchecked.  Duplicate the flower stem.  Go to image > mirror.  Position as in my tag above.
 
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.  Hide your white background and merge your visible layers.  Resize your merged layer by 90%, bicubic.
 
Highlight your white background.  Open up a paper from the kit. Don't resize.  Copy and paste as new layer onto your canvas.  Apply UFMask45 with the following settings:
 
Source Luminance
 
Fit to Canvas
 
Hide all mask.
 
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group.  Give the mask a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00.
 
Highlight your white background.  Open up a gems of choice.  Resize by 65%, smartsize.  Go to adjust > sharpen more.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give the gems a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00.
 
Crop and resize to your liking.
 
Add your copyright info, watermark and text.  If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
 
If you are animating, highlight your mask layer.  Apply Eyecandy 5 Nature - Waterdrops with the following settings:

Copy merged.  Open up Animation Shop.  Paste as a new animation in AS.
 
Back to Paint Shop Pro.  Go to edit > undo waterdrops.  Apply waterdrops again, but hit the random seed button.  Copy merged.  Paste after your current frame in AS.
 
Repeat the above steps 3 more times for a total of 5 frames.
 
Select all frames (CTRL+A)  Change the frame properties to 15.
 
Optimize and save as gif.
