PostHeaderIcon Summer Heat

This tutorial was written by me on 15 March 2009.  Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
 
Supplies Needed:
 
2 tubes of choice.  I am using the sensual artwork of Jose A. Cano.  I bought these tubes when he was still with MPT.  You can find his art at PSP Tubes Emporium now.

Font of choice.  I used aka Dora which you can download here.
 
No outside filters needed.

Ok!  Let's get started!  Open up a new transparent image 800 x 600.  Floodfill with white.
 
Open up frame 6 from the kit.  Resize by 70%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas. 
 
Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 30, feather set at 0.00.  Click inside the 2 outer frames.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00.  Open up a paper from the kit.  Resize by 82%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Go to selections > invert.  Hit delete on your keyboard.  Don't deselect.
 
Open up your first tube of choice.  Resize as necessary, bicubic.  Mirror your tube.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position the tube to your liking within the first frame.  Hit delete.  Open up another tube and repeat the same steps.  Deselect. (CTRL+D)  Give both tubes a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00.  Change the blend mode of both of the tubes to dissolve.  Lower the opacity on both tubes to about 90%.
 
Highlight your frame again.  Grab your magic wand and click inside the two middle frames.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00.  Open up another paper from the kit.  Resize by 82%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Deselect.
 
Highlight your frame again.  Grab your magic wand tool, same settings.  Click inside one of the middle frames.  Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00.  Open a tube.  Resize as necessary, bicubic.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position to your liking within the selection.  Go to selections > invert.  Hit delete and deselect.  Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Oapcity 60, Blur 5.00.  Change the blend mode of the tube to Luminance (Luminance).  Lower the opacity to 55%.
 
Repeat the same steps with the other empty space of the frame.
 
Highlight the frame layer.  Drag it to the top of your layer palette.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 7.00.
 
Open up a ribbon with tag from the kit.  Resize by 65%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position it towards the bottom of the two middle frames. (see my tag for reference)  Give the ribbona  drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00.  Duplicate the ribbon.  Grab your freehand selection tool, type point to point, feather set at 1.00.  Carefully select around the ends that are hanging over the 2 middle frames.  Hit delete and deselect.
 
Open up a knotted ribbon eyelet from the kit.  Resize by 50%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V -2, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00.  Duplicate the eyelet ribbon.  Go to image > mirror. Position them on the outer frames.  (see my tag for reference)
 
Open up 2 eyelets of choice.  Resize on by 35%, and the other by 30%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give them both a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00.  Duplicate the smaller eyelet.  Position them as in my tag above.
 
Open up the daffodils.  Resize one by 30%, and the other by 25%, smartsize.  Copy and paste them onto your canvas. Give them both a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00.  Position them as in my tag above.  Drag both daffodils beneath the eyelets.
 
Open up a sunflower.  Resize by 20%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 4.00.  Position in the middle of the ribbon with tag.
 
Open up 2 more sunflowers of choice.  Resize one by 25%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00.  Duplicate the sunflower.  Position them at the bottom ends of the frames.
 
Resize the other sunflower by 15%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V -1, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00.  Duplicate the sunflower 3 times for a total of 4.  Mirror 2 of them.  Position them as in my tag above.
 
Hide your white background.  Merge all visible layers together.  Resize the merged layer by 85%, smartsize.  Go to adjust > sharpness > unsharp mask.  Apply with a radius of 5, strength 10, clipping 1.
 
Open up a flower bundle of choice.  Resize by 60%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00.  Duplicate the flower bundle.  Go to image > mirror.  Position them as in my tag above.  Drag them to right above your white background.
 
Open up another sunflower.  Don't resize!  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00.  Duplicate.  Go to image > mirror.  Position them below the flower bundles.
 
Open up a doodles of choice.  Resize by 50%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Go to image > free rotate.  Rotate left by 90.00, both boxes unchecked.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V -2, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00.  Duplicate.  Go to image > mirror.  Position them below the sunflowers.
 
Highlight your white background.  Add a new raster layer.  Go to selections > select all.  Open up a paper from the kit.  Copy.  Highlight your new layer on your working image.  Paste into selection.  Deselect.
 
Apply the Becky Mask with the following settings:
 
Source Luminance
 
Hide all Mask
 
Fit to Canvas
 
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. 
 
Highlight your top layer.  Open up your tube.  Resize as necessary.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H 4, V -7, Opacity 65, Blur 8.00.  Position to your liking.
 
Open up a word art.  Resize by about 40%, smartsize.  Position to your liking.
 
 
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
 
Crop and resize to your liking.
 
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text.  If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.  If you are animating, duplicate the mask layer.  On your top layer, change the blend mode to dissolve.  Lower the opacity to 32.  Copy merged.
 
Open up Animation Shop.  Paste as a new animation in AS.
 
Back to PSP.  Change the opacity of the top mask layer to 51.  Copy merged.  Paste after frame 1 in AS.
 
Back to PSP.  Highlight the top mask layer.  Change the opacity to 79.  Copy merged and paste after frame 2 in AS.
 
Back to PSP.  Change the opacity to 63 on the top mask layer.  Copy merged.  Paste after frame 3 in AS.
 
Back to PSP.  Highlight the top mask layer.  Change the opacity to 43.  Copy merged and paste after frame 4 in AS.
 
Select all frames. (CTRL+A)  Change the frame properties to 17. 
 
Optimize and save as gif.
