Sugar and Spice

This tutorial was written by me on 23 June 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
3 tubes of choice. I am using the adorable artwork of Suzanne Woolcott. If you wish to use her artwork, you must purchase a license here.
Scrapkit. I used Blooming Lovely by Candy's Treats. If you wish to purchase this lovely kit, you can here. Thank you, Diane!!
Template 172 made by me. You can find it here.
Becky Mask 22. Unfortunately, her site is now closed. :(
Font of choice. I used Tekton Pro. (pay font)
Plugins:
Xero Filters - Sparkles
Texture Filter of choice
Animation Shop (opt)

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the circle 1 layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resise by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Don't deselect yet.
Open up cute ribbon 1 from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position towards the top of the circle. Hit delete. Deselect.Give the ribbon a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00
Highlight the circle 2 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up the same paper you used for circle 1. Resize, 65%, smartsize. Mirror the paper. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up cute ribbon 12 from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position towards the bottom of the circle. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the ribbon a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00.
Delete the gray circle 1 and 2 layers.
Open up poppy 1 from the kit. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V-2, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Position it under the ribbon in the left circle.
Open up poppy 4 from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 3, V -2, Oapcity 65, Blur 5.00. Arrange it beneath the ribbon of the right circle.
Highlight the stitches 1 layer. You can leave as is, or add a paper or color. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 35, Blur 2.00. Do the same with the stitches 2 layer.
Highlight the middle frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position the paper to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up your first tube of choice. Resize, as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 10.00. Delete the black middle frame fill layer.
Highlight the outer frame fill layer. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set to 100, feather set at 0.00. Click on the right part of the outer frame fill layer. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet.
Open up your second tube of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Oapcity 75, Blur 8.00.
Highlight the outer frame fill layer again. Grab your magic wand tool, same settings as before. Click on the left part of the layer. Open up the same paper you used before. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up your third tube of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete and deselect. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 8.00. Delete the black outer frame fill layer.
Highlgiht the cluster frame layer. Leave as is, or add a paper. Either way, give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 80, Blur 10.00.
Highlight the Sugar Spice layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with a dark color of choice. Deselect. Apply a texture filter of choice. Delete the black Sugar Spice layer. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 0.00, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty spaces of the words. Go to selections > modify > expand by 1.00. Add another new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with a light color of choice. Deselect. Apply the same texture filter. Drag the fill layer beneath the outline words layer. Highlight the outline Sugar Spice layer and give it a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, oapcity 75, Blur 2.00.
Repeat the above steps with the Nice layer.
Highlight the everything layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with your dark color of choice. Deselect. Apply the texture filter and give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Delete the black "everything" layer.
Repeat the above steps with the and layer.
Open up both staples from the kit. Resize them by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste them both as new layers onto your canvas. Duplicate each staple one time each for a total of 4 staples. Arrange the staples to your liking around the cluster frame.
Open up the poppy clip from the kit. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Oapciyt 65, Blur 7.00. Duplicate the popy clip. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Arrange the clips to your liking on the middle frame of the cluster frame.
Open up heart 2 from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opaciyt 55, Blur 7.00. Position to your liking on the cluster frame.
Open up the flower spray from the kit. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow H and V 0, oapcity 65, Blur 9.00. Arrange the flower spray at the bottom of the right circle. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip.
Highlight your white background layer. Open up green 1 from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 10.00. Go to image > flip. Arrange it beneath the left circle as in my tag above. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper from the kit. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Becky Mask 22 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Resize the mask by 95%, smartsize.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, highlight the mask layer. Select, float and defloat. Change your foreground and background colors to a darker color that matches your tag. Now apply Xero Sparkles with the following settings:
Deselect. Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to PSP. Go to edit > undo select none. Edit > undo sparkles. Apply sparkles again but slide Maximum to 999. Deselect. Copy merged and paste after frame 1 in AS.
In PSP, edit undo > select none. Edit > undo sparkles. Apply sparkles again, but change maximum to 998. Copy merged and paste after frame 2 in AS.
Optimize and save as gif.
