Storybook Romance

This tutorial was written by me on 4 February 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the exquisite artwork of Jennifer Janekso. I bought this tube at CILM when they were still open. You can find her work at CDO now.

Font of choice. I used Annabelle which you can download here.

Ok! Let's get started! Open up a new transparent image 700 x 700. Floodfill with white.
Open up Element 39 (round ribboned frame) from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.
Open up Element 11 (pink leaves stem) from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to adjust > add/remove noise. Add noise, Random and Monochrome checked, value set at 25. Apply Mura Meister Copies with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the leaves layer. Go to image > flip. Position one of the leaves layers towards the top of the frame, and the other towards the bottom. Drag your frame layer above the two leaves layers.
Highlight your frame layer. Grab your your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 30, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00. Selections > invert. Highlight one of your leaves layers. Hit delete. Highlight your other leaves layer and hit delete. Don't deselect yet!!
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 72%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Hit delete. Still don't deselect!!
Open up the Rainbow Coffi castle cloud. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the frame. Hit delete. Now you can deselect. (CTRL+D)
Apply Constellation to the castle cloud with the following settings:
Give the castle a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 35, Blur 1.00. Drag your castle layer beneath your leaves layer. Your frame should be on top, your leaves layers right beneath your frame, the castle beneath your leaves layers, and your paper layer beneath your castle layer.
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Choose a medium dark color from your tube. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 80, Blur 2.00, Color - the one you chose from your tube. Give your tube another drop shadow of H and V -2, Opacity 80, Blur 2.00, Color - the one you chose from your tube. Position your tube to your liking within the frame. Duplicate your tube layer. Drag one of the tube layers right beneath your frame.
Highlight your frame layer. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance 30, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 2.00. Selections > invert. Highlight your bottom tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size set at 40, opacity set at 100. Erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame. Deselect. Highlight your top tube . Erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame.
Highlight your frame layer. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 5.00. Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers together.
Unhide your white background. Open up element 38 (heart frame) from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Mura Meister Copies with the following settings:
Grab your magic wand tool, same settings as before. Click inside all of the empty spaces like this:
Go to selections > modify > expand by 3.00. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 72%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Drag your paper layer beneath your encircled hearts layer.
Highlight the encircled hearts layer. Apply Gradient Glow with the following settings (color white) :
Give the encircled hearts a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 4.00.
Hide your white background, and your merged layer, and merge your encircled hearts and paper layers together. Make sure the encircled hearts layer is beneath your frame/tube layer.
Highlight your top layer. Open up element 21 (flower) from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the flower. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the round frame.
Open up element 41 (true love hearts) from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 4.00. Position it at the bottom of the round frame.
Open up element 18 (bow) from the kit. Resizse it by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Position it on your true love hearts.
Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers together. Resize your merged layer by 90%, bicubic.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply BflyFlbyMask42 with the following settings:

Fit to Canvas
Hide all mask.
Delete the mask from your layer palette, answer yes to the pop up box and merge the group. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 38, feather set at 10. Click inside the empty spaces of the mask. Choose a color that matches your mask. Floodfill the selection with this color. Deselect. Apply Xero Tekstya to the mask layer with the following settings:
Resize the mask layer by 85%, smartsize. Duplicate the mask layer. Go to image > mirror. Position as in my tag above.
Open up element 25 (flower) from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the flower. Go to image > mirror. Duplicate the mirrored flower. Go to image > flip. Duplicate the flipped flower. Go to image > mirror. Position the flowers as in my tag above.
Open up element 66 (flower ribbon). Resize it by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the flower ribbon. Position them as in my tag above.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers together. Give the merged layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 7.00.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, copy your tag. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS. Duplicate until you have a total of 20 frames. Select all frames (CTRL+A)
Open up the heart bling mng file in AS. Select all frames (CTRL+A). Copy. Highlight your tag animation. Go to edit > paste into selected frame. Position the bling to your liking. Left click your mouse.
Highlight your bling animation. Go to Animation > Mirror. Select all frames. Copy. Highlight your tag animation. Go to edit > paste into selected frame. Position and left click your mouse.
Optimize and save as gif.
