Spring Kisses

This tutorial was written by me on 6 April 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
2 or 3 tubes of choice. I am using the adorable artwork of Suzanne Woolcott. If you wish to use her artwork, you must purchase a license from her site here.

Grass tube (in supplies)
Font of choice. I used Scrap Flower (pay font)

Ok! Let's get started! Open up a new transparent image 850 x 700. Floodfill with white.
Open up ct Stamp2 from the trails and frames folder. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 30, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the top 2 empty spaces of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00. Open up your image. Resize as necessary, smartsize. Copy. Paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position the photo or image to your liking within the selection. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D). Drag your photo/image layer beneath your stamp frame layer.
Highlight your stamp frame layer again. Grab your magic wand tool, same settings. Click inside the 2 bottom empty spaces of the frame. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position the paper to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Drag the paper layer beneath your frame layer. Highlight your frame layer and give it a drop shadow of H 3, V -2, Opacity 73, Blur 4.00.
Open up bow 5, 6 or 7 from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Position the bow in the center of the frame. Grab your freehand selection tool, type point to point, feather set at 2.00. Carefully select around the edges of the bow that are hanging over the frame. Hit delete and deselect.
Open up the glittery stitches from the kit. Resize them 50%, smartsize. Go to adjust > sharpen. Copy and paste them onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Give the stitches a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 45, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the stitches. Flip the duplicate stitches. Position one set of stiches at the top of the frame, and the other at the bottom. (see my tag for referene)
Open up 2 buttons from the kit. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give one a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Give the other button a drop shadow of H -2, V 1, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Position one in the upper right hand corner of the frame, and the other in the bottom left hand corner. Open up a string from the kit (preferably one with a bow). Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the string a drop shadow H 2, V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the string. Mirror the duplicated string. Position them on the bows.
Open up the leaf1 from the kit. Resize the leaf by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the leaf a drop shadow of H 2, V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Duplicate the leaf. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position the leaves in the upper left corner of the frame.
Open up butterfly 2 or 3 from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Go to adjust > sharpen. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Position on top of the leaves.
Open up a blossom of choice. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 1, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Position in the bottom right corner of the frame.
Open up the ladybug. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the ladybug a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00. Position on top of the blossom.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers.
Open up a tree 1 from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the tree a drop shadow of H 3, V -3, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Duplicate the tree. Mirror the duplicated tree. Position the trees on either side of the frame. Drag both tree layers beneath your merged layer. Position one just a bit higher than the other one. Position them so that they are a bit hidden by the merged frame layer. (see my tag for reference)
Open up a cloud from the kit. Resize the cloud by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste the cloud onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position the cloud on top of the leaves part of the tree. Duplicate the cloud. Mirror the cloud. Position the cloud on the opposite tree.
Open up another cloud from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3 and V -2, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the cloud. Mirror the duplicated cloud. Position the clouds so that they are peeking out from behind the tree. (see my tag for reference)
Open up the sun from the kit. Resize by 55%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. (I added an orange gradient glow to mine, but this is not necessary). Give the sun a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 5.00. Position the sun in between the trees, and so that the bottom half of the sun is covered my the merged layer. (see my tag for reference)
Open up another blossom from the kit. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the blossom. Mirror. Position them as in my tag above.
Open up the caterpillar. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Position the caterpillar so it looks as if it is peeking out from behind the left tree trunk. (see my tag for reference)
Open up the bee from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V -2, opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Position the bee on top of the right large blossom.
Open up the dragonflies from the kit. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give them a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 2.00. Grab your freehand selection tool, type point to point, feather set at 0.00. Carefully select around one of the dragonflies. Copy. Hit delete and deselect. Right click your working image and paste as a new layer. Your dragonflies should be 2 separate layers now. Mirror one of them. Position them to your liking.
Highlight your top layer. Open up butterfly 1 from the kit. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 1, Opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Position to your liking.
Highlight your top layer. Open up your main tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 8.00. Center your tube in front of the merged frame layer.
Open up the grass. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Positon at the bottom of the merged frame layer.
Open up the 2 snails from the kit. Resize them by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 4.00. Mirror one of the snails. Position one "behind" the grass, and the other in front of it.
Open up flower 1 from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V -2, Opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Position to your liking "behind" the grass.
Add any other embellishments of yor choosing. (I added a couple of bug trails resize by 35%).
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your watermark, copyright info, and your text.
If you have these same Woolcott tubes, feel free to animate as I did.
Save as JPG or PNG.
