PostHeaderIcon Smell the Flowers

This tutorial was written by me on 9 November 2008.  Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
 
Things we need:
 
Tube of choice.  I am using the elegant artwork of Carlos Cartagena.  If you wish to use his artwork, you must purchase a license with MPT
 
Scrapkit Glitterific by Silent Dreamer Designs.  If you wish to purchase this wonderfully sparkly kit you can here
 
Template # 69 by Missy of Divine Intentionz.   You can download this wonderful template at her blog here
 
Stone Mask made by me which you can download on my blog here
 
Font of choice.  I used Shalimar Swash (pay font)
 
 
Plugins
 
Eyecandy 5 Textures - Texture Noise
 
 
No other supplies needed. 
 
 
Let's get started!  Open up Missy's Template.  Duplicate (shift+d)  Close the original.  Delete the copyright info.  Go to image > canvas size.  Change the canvas size to 650 pixels in width and 500 pixels in height.  Floodfill the background layer with white.
 
Highlight the circle layer.  Go to selections > select all.  Selections > float.  Selections > defloat.  Open up a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize by 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.  Go to selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Deselect (CTRL+D)  Give the circle a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00.  Delete the template circle layer.
 
Highlight the thin rectangles 1 layer.  Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 30, feather set at 0.00.  Click inside the middle rectangle.   Open up a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize by 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Deselect.  Give the paper rectangle a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.
 
Highlight the thin rectangles 1 layer again.  Grab your magic wand tool, same settings.  Click inside the top and bottom rectangle.  Open up a paper that contrasts with the paper you just used.  Resize, 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Deselect.  Give the rectangles a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.  Delete the thin rectangles 1 template layer.
 
Open up a brad of choice.  Resize by 10%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3.00.  Position to your liking between te rectangle layers.
 
Highlight the thin rectangles 2 layer.  Select, float and defloat.  Open up a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete and deselect.  Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00.  Delete the thin rectangles 2 template layer.
 
Highlight the frame background layer.  Select, float and defloat.  Open up a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize by 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Do NOT deselect.
 
Open up your tube.  Mirror your tube.  Resize if necessary bicubic.  Copy and paste your tube onto your canvas.  Position to your liking within the selection.  Hit delete.  Deselect.  Change the blend mode of the tube to Luminance (legacy)  Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 6.00.  Delete the frame background template layer.
 
Highlight the frame layer.  Select, float and defloat.  Open up a paper from the kit.  Resize 68%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Selections > invert.  Hit delete.  Deselect.  Give the frame a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.  Delete the frame template layer.
 
Open up a flower of choice from the kit.  Resize by 15%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 4.00.  Duplicate your flower and position them to your liking on your frame.
 
Open up a butterfly of choice.  Resize by 15%, smartsize.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Give it the same drop shadow you gave your flower.  Position to your liking.
 
Open up a doodle of choice.  Resize by 45%, smartsize.  Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.  Duplicate the doodle and mirror.  Position them to your liking.  Give them both a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 2.00.
 
Highlight your white background.  Open up another doodle of choice.  Resize by 70%, smartsize.  Give the doodle the same drop shadow you gave your previous doodle.  Duplicate the doodle.  Go to image > mirror.  Image > flip.  Position them to your liking.  
 
Open up your tube again (don't mirror this time)  Resize bicubic if necessary.  Copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position to your liking.  Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 12.00.
 
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers.
 
Highlight your white background.  Open up a paper of choice. (Don't resize!!!)  Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.  Apply my stone mask:
 
Source Luminance
 
Fit to Canvas
 
Hide all Mask
 
Delete the mask on the layer palette.  Answer yes and merge the group. 
 
Choose a color from your tube or tag that contrasts with your mask color, and make it your foreground.  Grab your change to target brush.  (it's drop down menu is right below the paint brush)  Change the size to 72,  and the opacity to 35.   Gently click in different places of the mask so it looks as if it's marbled:

Crop and resize to your liking.
 
Add your copyright info, watermark and text.
 
If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
 
If you are, duplicate your mask layer. On the top layer, apply Eyecandy Textures > Texture Noise with the following settings:

Copy merged and open up animation shop.  Paste as a new animation.   Back to PSP.  Go to Edit > Undo Texture Noise.  Apply Texture Noise again, but this time hit the random seed button.  Copy merged.  Paste after your current frame in AS.
 
Repeat this 2 more times for a total of 4 frames.  Select all frames (CTRL+A)  Change the frame properties to 25.
 
Optimize and save as gif.
