Rock Revolution

This tutorial was written by me on 26 May 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the sexy artwork of Ismael Rac. I bought this tube when he was still with MPT. You can purchase his artwork at his store here.

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the diamond circles layer. Go to selections > Select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up paper 10 from the folder Crazed_Rockin papers. Resize the paper by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Go to adjust > add/remove noise. Apply noise, Random, with a value of 34. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Oapcity 60, Blur 2.00. Delete the gray diamond circles layer.
Highlight the small stars layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 1 from folder Rockin Attitude Collab_TS folder. Resize the paper by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V-1, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Delete the gray small stars layer.
Highlight the left star fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 1 from the Donna's Rockin Attitude Collab folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position the paper within the selection. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect.
Highlight the right star frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Copy and paste the same paper you just used (it should still be on your clipboard) onto our canvas. Position within the selection. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 7.00. Delete the white right star frame layer. Delete the gray left star fill layer.
Highlight the right star fill layer. Select, float and defoat. Open up Paper 2 from the Donna's Rockin Attitude Collab folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect.
Highlight the left star frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Copy and paste the same paper you just used onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 7.00. Delete the white left star frame layer. Delete te gray right star fill layer.
Highlight the large circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 11 from the Crazeds_Rockin Papers folder. Resize by 18%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up the music bar from the QB Elements1 folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking. Hit delete. Open up the music bar again. Mirror it. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking Hit delete. Open up the music bar one more time. Resize by 85%, smartsize. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 90.00. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking. Hit delete. Deselect. Give each music bar layer a drop shadow of H -2, V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 3.00. Delete the gray large circle layer.
Highlight the stripes layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 14 from the Rockin Attitude Collab TS folder. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 80, Blur 8.00. Delete the black stripes layer.
Highlight the small circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 11 from the Rockin Attitude Collab - Missy folder. Resize the paper by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray small circle layer.
Highlight the ripped circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 9 from the Donna's Rockin Attitude Collab folder. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Highlight the white ripped circle layer and drag it above your ripped paper circle layer. Change the blend mode of the white ripped circle layer to Burn. Merge the white and paper ripped circle layers together. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 3, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Now give it a drop shadow of H and V -3, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00.
Highlight the circle outline layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 11 from Crazeds_Rockin Papers folder. Resize by 18%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Delete the black circle outline layer.
Highlight the music strips layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 5 from the jbs2_Rockin Attitude_papers folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Delete the black music strips layer.
Highlight the Rock Revolution layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up paper 5 from the Crazeds_Rockin Papers folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Apply Eyecandy 5 Textures - Texture Noise with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 3.00. Delete the black Rock Revolution layer.
Open up tape 2 from the Created by Jill Rockin Attitude 04 folder. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 6.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position them at both ends of the music strips layer.
Open up safety pin 2 from the Rockin Attitude TnT folder. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, Opacity 55, Blur 3.00. Grab your eraser tool, size 10, opacity 100. Carefully erase the middle part of the safety pin on one side. (see my tag above) Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position the safety pins so that they look as if they are pinning the peices of tape in place.
Open up ribbon1 from the QB Elements 1 folder. Resize by 7%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V -1, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Go to image > mirror. Position to your liking on the large circle.
Open up heart 2 from the QB Elements 1 folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Position on top of the black ribbon.
Open up bow 1 from the QB Elements 1 folder. Resize by 6%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking on the large circle.
Open up butterfly 1 from the KD_Rocking_Attitude_Collab_SWA folder. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Go to image > mirror. Position to your liking on the large circle.
Open up flower 2 from the Rockin Attitude Collab TS folder. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 8.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position both flowers on top of the stars so that they are peeking out from beneath the large circle layer. (see my tag for reference)
Open up Flourish 1 from the Designs by Ali_SWA Rockin Attitude Collab folder. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 35.00 degrees, both boxes unchecked. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Position on top of the right star so that is peeking out from beneath the large circle.
Open up ribbon 3 from the QB Elements 1 folder. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Coy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V -2, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Position behind your left star so that is peeking out a bit. (see my tag for reference)
Open up butterfly 1 from the Kiere Grand Opening Folder. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 15.00, both boxes unchecked. Position it towards the top left of the tag beneath the small stars layer. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00.
Open up doodle 2 from the Kiere Grand Opening folder. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position towards the bottom right of the tag, beneath the small stars layer. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00.
Open up Broken Heart 2 from the Created by Jill Rockin Attitude 03 folder. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position the hearts to your liking beneath the large circle layer.
Open up 3 music notes of choice from the Created by Jill Rockin Attitude 04 folder. Resize them 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste them onto your canvas. Position them to your liking beneath the large circle layer so that they peek out a bit. Apply Eyecandy 5 Textures - Textures Noise, to all 3, same settings as earlier. Give them all a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00.
Highlight your circle outline layer. Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 15.00. Position your tube to your liking. Don't move!! Duplicate your tube. Drag your bottom tube layer beneath your ripped circle layer.
Highlight your top tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size 45, opacity 100. Carefully erase the parts of your tube you don't want hanging out of the ripped circle. Highlight your bottom tube and do the same, if necessary.
Highlighlihgt your top tube layer. Open up the barb wire from the Designs by Ali_SWA Rockin Attitude Collab folder. Resize by 77%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 4.00. Position it so it looks as if it is holding your tube in place.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Open up Paper 7 from the Rockin Attitude Collab TS folder. Resize by 23%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply Vix Mask 101 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask.
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Resize the mask by 95%, smartsize. Select, float and defloat your mask. Apply Xero Filters Pastellise with the following settings:
Now apply Texture Noise same settings as earlier. Give the mask a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the mask layer. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position the masks to your liking.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text.
Save as JPG or PNG.
