This tutorial was written by me on 3 June 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
3 tubes of choice. I am using the stunning artwork of Jennifer Janesko. I purchased this tube when CILM was still open. You can now purchase her artwork at CDO.
Scrapkit. I am using the awesome kit Taste of the Orient by Deb's Designs. If you wish to purchase this kit, you can here. Thank you, Deb!!

Font of choice. I used jsa lovechinese which you can download here.
Plugins:
Mura Meister - Copies
Tramages - Accelarating Glass - do a google search for more details.
Filters Unlimited 2 - Paper Textures - Japanese Paper. If you don't have this filter, then any texture filter will do.

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the fleurs 1 layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 85%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Delete the black fleurs 1 layer.
Highlight the fleurs 2 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. (or use the same one you just used). Resize by 85%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Delete the black fleurs 2 layer.
Highlight the 2 rectangles layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with a color of choice. Deselect. Apply Filters Unlimited - Japanese paper with the default settings. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 6.00. Delete the gray 2 rectangles layer.
Highlight the middle rectangle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 80%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray middle rectangle layer.
Highlight the rectangles fill layer. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 50, feather set at 0.00. Click on the right rectangle so that there are marching ants all around it. Open up a paper fromt he kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet!
Open up your first tube of choice. Resize (bicubic) to fit in the rectangle. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 6.00. Change the blend mode of the tunbe to Luminance (Legacy).
Highlight the rectangles fill layer again. Grab your magic wand tool, same settings as before. Click inside the left rectangle. Open up a paper fromt he kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up your second tube of choice. Resize, bicubic, to fit in the rectangle. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection and hit delete. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 6.00, and change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy). Delete the gray rectangles fill layer.
Highlight the japanese writing 1 layer and change the blend mode to Overlay. Highlight the japanese writing 2 layer and do the same.
Highlight the rectangles frames layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 80%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Oapcity 80, Blur 6.00. Delete the gray rectangles frames layer.
Highlight the frame fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray frame fill layer.
Highlight the frame deco layer. Select, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with the same color you used before. Deselect. Apply Filters Unlimited - Japanese paper, default settings. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 2, V 0, Oapcity 55, Blur 3.00. Delete the white frame deco layer.
Highlight the frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 85, Blur 7.00. Delete the black frame layer.
Highlight your frame fill layer. Open up your main tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking. Make certain you like where it is at, because you can't move it after this! Give the tube a drop H and V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 12.00. Duplicate your tube. Drag your top tube layer above your frame layer. Hide the top tube layer. Highlight the frame fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Highlight your bottom tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size 35, opacity 100. Carefully erase the parts of the tube you don't want hanging over the frame. Deselect. Unhide and highlight your top tube layer. Erase the parts of the tube you don't want hanging over the frame.
Highlight your frame layer. Open up a flower branch of choice. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position the branches to your liking on top of the frame.
Open up a bow from the kit. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, Opacity 55, Blur 4.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the rectangle frames.
Open up a latern from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the rectangle frames.
Open up umbrella 01 from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 25.00. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 8.00. Position to your liking behind your main tube. (see my tag for reference)
Open up a flower from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate. Position the flowers behind your rectangle frames. (see my tag for reference)
Highlight your white background. Open up a tree from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Mura Meister Copies with the following settings:
Resize by 95%, smartsize. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 9.00. Change the blend mode to Hard Light and lower the opacity to 70. Go to adjust > sharpness > unsharp mask. Apply with radius 5, strength 35, clipping 2.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers. Resize you merge dlayer by 85%, bicubic.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper from the kit. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply EBD Mask 1 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask
Delete te mask, answer yes and merge the group.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, highlight your mask layer. Go to adjust > blur > gaussian blur. Apply with a radius of 5.00. Now apply Tramages - Accelarating Glass witht he following settings:
Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go to edit > undo Accelarating Glass. Apply the filter again, but change Zoom In/Out to 76. Copy merged. Paste after frame 1 in AS.
Back in PSP, go to edit > undo accelarating glass. Apply the filter again, but change Zoom In/Out to 91. Copy merged and paste after frame 2 in AS.
In PSP, go to edit > undo. Apply the filter again, changin zoom in/out to 110. Copy merged. Paste after frame 3 in AS.
In Animation Shop, select all frames (CTRL+A). Change the frame properties to 13.
Optimize and save as gif.
