This tutorial was written by me on 6 February 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube and close up of choice. I am using the gorgeous artwork of Ismael Rac. I bought this tube when he was still with MPT. You can find his tubes at his store here.
Scrap kit. I am using the lovely scrap To My Valentine by Cinnamon Scraps. You can grab this awesome freebie kit from her blog here.
Template 118 made by me which you can download here.
Heart Animation
Font of choice. I used Hollyweird which you can download here.

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the bracket layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Don't deselect yet.
Open up a ribbon wrap of choice. Resize by about 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position the wrap to your liking on the bracket. Hit delete. Deselect (CTRL+D) Give the wrap a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00.
Highlight the paper bracket and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray bracket layer.
Highlight the hearts layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 80%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Apply Gradient Glow with a color of choice with the following settings:
Give the hearts a drop shadow of H and V 5, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the black hearts layer.
Highlight the circle 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet!
Open up your close up. Resize if necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the circle. Hit delete and deselect. Apply gradient glow to your tube, same settings as earlier. Lower the opacity of the tube to 60.
Highlight your paper circle 1 layer. Apply gradient glow, same settings. Give the circle a drop shadow of H and V 5, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Delete the gray circle 1 layer.
Highlight the circle 2 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 5, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the gray circle 2 layer.
Highlight the circle 3 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V -5, Opcity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the black circle 3 layer.
Highight the circle 4 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 5, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the black circle 4 layer.
Highlight the circle 5 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V -5, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the gray circle 5 layer.
Open up a flower of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the flower. Position to your liking.
Open up a button of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the button. Go to image > mirror. Position the buttons as in my tag above.
Open up a double bow from the kit. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the bow. Go to image > mirror. Position the bows on the buttons.
Open up a scrunched ribbon. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the scrunched ribbon. Position them on the top and bottom points of the bracket. (see my tag for reference)
Open up the glasshearts from the kit. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the glass hearts. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking.
Highlight your white background. Open up the heart frame from the kit. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 40, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00. Open up a paper from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Drag the paper layer beneath your heart frame. Highlight your heart frame and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 8.00.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers. Resize your merged layer by 85%, bicubic.
Open up the other scrunched ribbon. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Duplicate the scrunched ribbon. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking or see my tag for reference.
Highlight your white background again. Open up a doodle of choice. Resize by about 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 70, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the doodle. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position them to your liking or see my tag for reference.
Highlight your top layer. Open up frame 1 from the kit. Resize by 55%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position towards the bottom of the bracket. Grab your magic wand tool, same settings as before. Click inside the empty spaces of the frame. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize 80%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet.
Open up your tube. Mirror your tube and resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the frame. Hit delete. Deselect. Lower the opacity of the tube to 60. Apply gradient glow, same settings as earlier.
Highlight your frame 1 layer, and drag it above your tube layer. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 6.00.
Open up a wordart of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Position to your liking.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a dropshadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 12.00. Position to your liking.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, then save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, merge all of your layers together and copy your tag. Paste as a new animation in AS. Duplicate until you have a total of 11 frames. Select all frames (CTRL+A)
Open up the heart animation MNG file. Select all frames (CTRL+A) Copy. Highlight your tag animation. Go to edit > paste into selected frame. Position to your liking and left click your mouse.
Mirror the heart animation. Repeat the above step.
Optimize and save as gif.
