Lucky Charms

This tutorial was written by me on 19 February 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the sensual artwork of Deacon Black. I bought this tube when CILM was still open. I don't where and if you can buy his art now, so just use a tube that you like instead.
Scrapkit. I am using the lucky scrap Bit O' Green by Created by Jill. If you wish to purchase this kit, you can here. Thank you, Jill!

Harp and Shamrock Set by Rainbow Coffi.
Font of choice. I used Patty Day (pay font).
Plugins:
Texture filter of choice
Xenofex 2 - Constellation

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer and the glitter shamrock layers (green and grayscale).
Highlight the 2 rectangles layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 68%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H -2, V 3, Opacity 70, Blur 3.00. Delete the gray 2 rectangles layer.
Highlight the small shamrocks layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper that contrasts with the last one you used. Resize, 68%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 80, Blur 2.00. Delete the gray small shamrocks layer.
Highlight the fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 68%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray fill layer.
Open up the celtic knot from the kit. Resize by 68%, smartsize. Go to adjust > sharpen > unsharp mask. Apply with the following settings:
Radius - 5
Strength - 30
Clipping - 1
Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position in the middle of the fill. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 70, Blur 2.00.
Highlight the frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 68%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet.
Open up a frame wrap from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 25.00 degrees, both boxes unchecked. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking on the frame. Grab your eraser tool, size 35, opacity 100. Carefully erase the parts of the ribbon that you don't want hanging out of the frame. Deselect. Give the ribbon a drop shadow of H and V 0, opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the ribbon. Go to image > mirror. Then > image flip. Position.
Highlight the paper frame. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opaicity 80, Blur 5.00. Delete the black frame layer.
Highlight the doodle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00. Delete the black doodle layer.
Open up a flower from the kit. Resize by 12%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, oapcity 70, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the flower 3 times for a total of 4. Position in the center of the shamrocks of the doodles (see my tag for reference)
Open up a bow from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 1.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position to your liking on the frame.
Open up the leaves from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 45.00 degrees, both boxes unchecked. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 70, Blur 1.00. Duplicate the leaves. Go to image > mirror. Duplicate the mirrored leaves. Go to image > flip. Duplicate the flipped leaves. Go to image > mirror. Position all of the leaves beneath the doodles (see my tag for reference)
Highlight your white background. Open up the flower wire. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 5.00. Position between your 2 rectangles.
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 11.00. Position to your liking.
Open up the Rainbow Coffi Harp. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Position to your liking.
Open up the shamrock set. Grab your freehand selection tool, type point to point. Select around the area you would like to use. Copy. Paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Give it a drop shadow of H and V -1, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position to your liking
Add any other embellishments of your choosing. Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers. Resize your merged layer by 95%, smartsize.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply GG_Mask 22 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask
Delete the mask from your layer palette, answer yes, and merge the group. Apply a texture filter of choice to the mask. Duplicate the mask. On the bottom layer, go to adjust > blur > gaussian blur. Apply with a radius of 10. Apply a texture filter of choice.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, highlight your mask layer. Select, float and defloat. Apply constellation with the following settings:
Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 35, Blur 1.00. Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go to edit > undo drop shadow. Edit > undo select none. Edit > undo constellation. Apply constellation again, but this time hit the random seed button. Deselect. Copy merged and paste after your current frame in AS.
Repeat the above steps 3 more times for a total of 5 frames.
Select all frames (CTRL+A). Change the frame properties to 12.
Optimize and save as gif.
