Love Softly

This tutorial was written by me on 27 October 2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
2 or 3 tubes of choice. I am using the sexy artwork of Keith Garvey. I got this tube when he was still with MPT

Font of choice. I used Roselyn. (pay font)
Plugins:
Penta Filters - Dot and Cross
Alien Xenofex 2 - Constellation
Let's get started! Open up my template and delelte the credits. Highlight the Angled Rectangle 1 layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the scrapkit. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL + D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray angled rectangle. Repeat the same steps with the Angled Rectangle 2 layer.
Highlight the Angled Heart 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Apply Penta Filters > Dot and Cross with the following settings:
Give the heart a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray heart layer. Repeat the same steps with the Angled Heart 2 layer.
Open up a tag of choice from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it the same drop shadow you gave your hearts. Duplicate the tag. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking.
Highlight your left heart fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Do NOT deselect.
Open up your first tube of choice. Resize, bicubic, if necessary. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position your tube to your liking within the selection. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL + D) Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy). Delete the gray heart fill layer. Repeat the same steps with the right heart fill layer, except mirror your tube.
Highlight your Left Rectangle Fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open a paper from the scrapkit. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Do NOT deselect.
Open up your 2nd tube of choice. Resize if necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Change the blend mode of the tube to Hard Light. Delete the gray rectangle fill layer. Repeat the same steps with the Right Rectangle fill layer, except mirror your tube.
Highlight the left rectangle frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open a paper from the kit. Paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Give the frame a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Delete the black rectangle frame. Repeat the same steps withe the right rectangle frame layer.
Give both heart frame layers a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 4.00.
Highlight your right rectangle fill paper layer. Open up a ribbon of choice from the scrapkit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position the ribbon in the middle of your rectangles. Give the ribbon a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Grab your eraser tool, size 20, opacity 90. Carefull erase the parts of the ribbon that are hanging out of your frames.
Highlight the diamond layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00.
Delete the gray diamond layer.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background layer. Choose a light/medium color from your tube. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new layer with your chose color. Apply Vix's mask, Source Luminance, Fit to layer, Hide all mask. Delete the mask from your layer palette. Answer yes to the pop up box, and merge the group. Resize the mask layer by 90%, smartsize. Apply Penta > Dot and Cross, same settings as earlier. Position the mask to your liking. Give it a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 1.00.
Crop and resize to your liking. Add your copyright info, watermark and text. Merge all of your visible layers together. If you are not animating, you are done.
If you are, grab your freehand selection tool, selection type, point to point, feather 0.00. Carefully select around the parts of your tube that you want to "sparkle" Apply Xenofex 2 Constellation with the following settings:
Deselect. Copy. Open up Animation Shop and paste as a new animation. Back to PSP. Go to Edit > Undo 2x. Apply Constellation again but this time hit the random seed button. Deselect. Copy and paste after your current frame in AS.
Repeat the above step one more time for a total of 3 frames.
Optimize and save as gif.
