This tutorial was written by me on 7 January 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
2 tubes of choice. I am using the sexy artwork of Keith Garvey. I bought this tube when he was still with MPT. You can find him at PSP Tubes Emporium now.
Scrapkit. I am using the lovely Valentine kit Valentine Wishes by Designs by Ali. If you wish to purchase this awesome kit, you can here. Thank you, Ali!!
Template 98 made by me which you can download here.
Font of choice. I used Hearts which you can download here.

Ok! Let's get started. Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the 2 rounded rectangles. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 74%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D) Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 8.00. Delete the gray 2 rounded rectangles layer.
Highlight the rounded rectangles hearts layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice. Resize by 74%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Delete the black hearts layer.
Highlight the double circle fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 74%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray circle fill layer.
Highlight the circle stripes layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice. Resize. by 74%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65< blur 5.00. Delete the white stripes layer.
Highlight the double circle frame. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 74%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Delete the white frame.
Highlight the heart fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray heart fill layer.
Highlight the heart squiggle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 5.00. Delete the gray heart squiggle layer.
Highlight the heart frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Delete the gray heart frame.
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. GIve your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Position your tube to your liking within the frame.
Grab your magic wand tool, feather set at 2.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 1.00. Selections > invert. Highlight your tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size 30, opacity 100. Carefully erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame. Deselect. Highlight your frame layer. Give the frame a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00.
Highlight the heart fill layer. Open up a heartlines of choice. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Duplicate the hearts line. Go to image > mirror. Position as in my tag above.
Open up a double tape heart of choice. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 40, feather at 6.00. Click inside the heart. Open up your second tube of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Change the blend mode of the tube to Luminance (Legacy). Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Merge the heart and tube layers together. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position as in my tag above.
Open up a sloppy bow of choice. Resize by 10%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, blur 4.00. Duplicate the bow. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking.
Open up a butterfly of choice. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00, Duplicate the butterfly. Go to image > mirror. Position to your liking.
Open up a rosehead of choice. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Duplicate the rose. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking.
Open up a journal of choice. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 15.00, both boxes unchecked. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Duplicate the journal. Go to image > mirror. Position them behind the double tape hearts (see my tag for tag reference)
Open up a letter and envelope of choice. Resize. by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Duplicate and mirror. Position to your liking. Add any text that you like.
Open up a flower wrap of choice. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Position to your liking.
Open up a label of choice. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position to your liking.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background. Merge all visible layers together. Resize the merged layer by 90%, bicubic.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper of choice. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply Vix's mask with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all mask.
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Resize the mask by 85%, smartsize. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 35, Blur 1.00. Duplicate the mask. Go to image > mirror. Position the mask layers as in my tag above. Hide your white background and the merged layer. Merge the 2 mask layers together.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark, and your text. If you are not animating, then save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, highlight the mask layer. Apply Xero Fritillary with the following settings:
Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS.
Back to Paint Shop Pro. Go edit > undo fritillary. Apply Fritillary again, but this time change variation to 77. Copy merged. Paste after frame 1 in AS.
In PSP, go to edit > undo fritillary. Apply again, but change variation to 79. Copy merged. Paste after frame 2 in AS.
Back to PSP, Edit > undo fritillary. Apply again, but change variation to 81. Copy merged. Paste after frame 3 in AS.
Select all frames (CTRL+A) Change the frame properties to 12.
Optimize and save as gif.
