This tutorial was written by me on 22 February 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Close up or image of choice. I am using the awesome artwork of Michael Landefeld. I bought this tube when CILM was still open. You can find his tubes at CDO now.

Ok! Let's get started! Open up a new transparent image 700 x 700. Floodfill with white.
Open up frame 3 from the kit. Resize by 80%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Go to selections > modify > expand by 2.00. Selections > invert. Open up the string tie from the kit. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position it on the left side of the frame. Grab your eraser tool, size 30, opacity 100. Carefully erase the ends of the string tie you don't want hanging over the frame. Deselect. (CTRL+D) Give the string tie a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 4.00.
Highlight the frame. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 40, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 4.00. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 68%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Don't deselect.
Open up your close up or image of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete. Deselect. Give your tube a drop shadow of H -7, V 3, Opacity 70, Blur 7.00.
Highlight your frame layer. Drag it above your tube layer. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 8.00.
Open up a blossom from the kit. Resize by 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V -2, Opacity 65, Blur 2.00. Position in the center of the string tie.
Open up another blossom from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it the same drop shadow you gave your other blossom. Go to image > mirror. Position next to the bigger blossom.
Open up a shoelace from the kit. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 3, V 1, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00. Position to your liking.
Highlight your frame layer. Open up the star line from the kit. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the frame.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers. Resize your merged layer by 90%, bicubic. Go to adjust > sharpness > unsharp mask. Apply with the following settings:
Radius - 5
Strength - 30
Clipping - 2
Open up the letters from the kit. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 10.00. Drag it beneath your merged frame layer and center it behind the frame.
Open up a paper from the kit. Make it your background (angle 0, scale 100). Grab your preset shape (ellipse). Change your foreground to Null. Draw out a largish circle (see my tag for reference) Convert to Raster Layer. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 7.00. Duplicate the circle. Drag both circles beneath the letters layer. Position on in the upper left corner of the letters layer and the other in the bottom right corner.
Highlight your top layer. Open up the string stars from the kit. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 3.00. Duplicate. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position them as in my tag above.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 85%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Apply Vix's mask with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Layer
Hide all mask
Delete the mask from your layer palette. Answer yes to the popup box. Merge the group. Give the mask a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 2.00. Mirror the mask.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating, merge all of your layers together. Copy. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS. Duplicate until you have a total of 6 frames. Select all frames (CTRL+A).
Open up the GG_Glowing Stars MNG file. Select all frames (CTRL+A). Resize (bicubic resample) if necessary. Copy. Highlight your tag animation. Go to edit > paste into selected frame. Position on your top circle. Left click your mouse. Copy and paste the stars again, but position on your bottom circle.
Change the frame properties to 15.
Optimize and save as gif.
