Give Thanks

This tutorial was written by me on 20 November2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the amazing artwork of Elias Chatzoudis. I bought this tube when he was still with MPT . You can find him at PSP Tubes Emporium now.
Scrapkit. I am using the awesome freebie Give Thanks by Missy of Scraps with Attitude. You can download this great scrap here Thank you, Missy!

Twink animation
Font of choice. I used Crystal (pay font)
Plugins:
Xero Radiance
Eyecandy 4000 Gradient Glow
Animation Shop (opt)
Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down Shift + D. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the leaves layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 78%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. (CTRL+D) Apply AAA Textures with the following settings:
Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 8.00. Delete the leaves template layer.
Highlight the circle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 78%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Do NOT deselect.
Open up the metal flowers ribbon from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Go to, rotate right. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Duplicate and position the flowers to your liking. Hit delete. Deselect. Give both metal ribbons a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.
Highlight your paper circle, and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Delete the black circle template layer.
Highlight the angled scalloped rectangle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 78%, smartsize. Copy and paste as and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Do NOT deselect yet!
Open up your tube. Don't resize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete and deselect. Give the tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Change the blend mode of the tube to Luminance (Legacy). Highlight the paper angled scallop. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 8.00. Delete the angled scalloped template layer.
Highlight the angled scalloped rectangle 2 layer. Repeat the same steps as above but mirror your tube.
Highlight the strip 1 layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper that contrast with your circle. Resize by 78%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Give the strip a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00. Delete the white strip 1 layer.
Highlight your strip 2 layer and repeat the same steps as above.
Highlight your scalloped rectangle layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize, 78%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect yet.
Open up the fence from the kit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Center it at the bottom of the rectangle. Hit delete and deselect. Give the fence a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.
Highlight the paper scalloped rectangle and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 6.00. Delete the scalloped rectangle template layer.
Highlight your scalloped rectangle. Open up 3 flowers of choice. Resize by 15, 20 and 25%, smartsize. Copy and paste them onto your canvas. Give them all a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Position them to your liking behind the fence.
Open up the tassle 2 element from the kit. Grab your freehand selections tool, type point to point, feather set at 0.00. Select around the one you want to use. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Resize by 40%, smartsize (all layers unchecked!) Go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 25.00, both boxes unchecked. Give the tassle bow a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the tassle bow and mirror. Position them at the top of the circle, one on top of the other.
Open up a bow of choice from the kit. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give the bow the same drop shadow you gave your tassle. Duplicate and mirror the bow. Position them on both sides of the tassle bow. (see my tag for reference)
Highlight your white background. Open up a broom from the kit. Resize by 60%, smartsize. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Go to Mura Meister Copies and apply with the following settings:
Resize the encircled broom layer by 95%, smartsize. Position to your liking behind the tag. Apply Eyecandy 4 Gradient Glow with the following settings:
Give the brooms a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00.
Highlight your white background. Open up a dark paper from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Vix's mask with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all mask.
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Apply AAA Textures same settings as earlier. Give it a drop shadow of H 1, V 0, Opacity 35, Blur 2.00.
Open up a light colored paper from the kit. Don't resize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply Vix's mask again, same settings. Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Apply AAA Filters, same settings. Give it the same drop shadow you gave the last mask layer. Resize by 95%, smartsize. Position both mask layers to your liking.
Open up your tube. Resize, bicubic, as necessary. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00. Position to your liking. Open up a couple of flowers and resize them by 15 and 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste them onto your canvas. Give them a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Duplicate them as many times as you like and arrange them around your tube.
Hide your white background and merge your visible layers. On your merged layer, apply Xero Radiance with the following settings:
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. If you are not animating, save as JPG or PNG.
If you are animating. Merge all of your layers together. Copy. Open up Animation Shop, and paste as a new animation.
Duplicate until you have a total of 16 frames. Select all frames (CTRL+A)
Open up the yellow star animation. Select all frames (CTRL+A) Copy. Highlight your tag animatin. Go to edit > paste into selected frame. Position the stars to your liking and left click your mouse.
Repeat the above steps as many times as you like.
Optimize and save as gif.
