Elegant Green

This tutorial was written by me on 16 July 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choie. I am using the exquisite artwork of Jennifer Janesko. I purchased this tube when CILM was still open, but you can purchase her work now at CDO.

Font of choice. I used Mea Culpa which is a pay font so I can't supply.
No outside plugins or other supplies are needed

Ok! Let's get started! Open up a new transparent image 700 (h) x 600 (w). Floodfill with white.
Open up the Lace Frame Cluster from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. (Hide your white background layer for now so you can see the frame)
Open up the Floral Spray Frame from the kit. Resize by 85%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Drag the floral spray frame layer beneath your lace frame layer. Give the floral spray a drop shadow of H -2, V -2, Opacity 55, Blur 3.00.
Highlight the lace frame layer. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set to 100, feather set to 0.00. Click inside the emtpy space of the frame (don't forget the empty spaces of the dragon fly wings). Go to selections > modify > expand by 3.00. Open up a paper from the kit. ( I used paper 1). Resize the paper by 45%, smartsize. Add a new raster layer to your working image. Copy the paper and paste into selection. Don't deselect yet.
Open up your tube of choice. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position your tube to your liking within the selection. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselet (CTRL+D). Drag your tube layer beneath your lace frame layer. Drag the paper layer beneath both frame layers. Highlight the lace frame and give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 8.00. Hide your white background and merge your visible layers together.
Open up the pillar from the kit. Resize by 85%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V-2, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Position the pillar at the left your merged layer. Drag it beneath your merged frame layer. (see my tag for reference)
Open up the lace kite from the kit. Resize by 55%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V -1, Opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Position it behind the pillar so the top of it is peeking out. (see my tag for reference)
Open up the Ivy from the kit. Resize by 90%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -3, V -2, Opacity 55, Blur 4.00. Position the Ivy behind the the pillar and the kite. Duplicate the ivy. Go to image > mirror. Arrange as in my tag above.
Open up the floral spray from the kit. Resize by 70%,s martsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H 2, V -2, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00. Position it towards the bottom right of the merged frame layer. Drag the floral spray beneath your merged frame layer.
Highlight your top layer. Open up the humming bird from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 3.00. Position to your liking on the frame.
Open up the caged bird from the kit. Resize by 35%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer ontoy our canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H -2, V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 3.00. Position it at the bottom of the pillar.
Open up a bow from the kit. Resize by 15%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 5.00. Position the bow at the top of the bird cage.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Highlight your white background. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 90%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply UF Mask 58 with the following settings:
Source Luminance
Fit to Canvas
Hide all Mask
Delete the mask, answer yes and merge the group. Give the mask a drop shadow of H 2, V -1, Opacity 35, Blur 3.00.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark, and your text. Save as JPG or PNG.
