 This tutorial was written by me on 29 October 2008. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental. Supplies Needed: 2Tubes of choice. I am using the beautiful artwork of Jennifer Janesko. I got this tube when CILM was still open. You can find her at CDO now. Scrapkit I Love Snow by Candy's Treats. I used Bonheur Royale (pay font) Plugins Xero Greytinter and Porcelain Let's get started! Open up a new transparent image 650 x 650. Floodfill with white. Open up a box of choice from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Grab your freehand selections tool, type point to point, Feather 1.00. Carefully select around the inside of the box like this:  Open up your tube. Resize bicubic, if necessary. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position your tube to your liking within the selection. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Apply Xero Greytinter to your tube with the following settings:  Now apply xero porcelain with the following settings:  Give your tube a drop shadow of H -5, V 2, Opacity 45, Blur 3.00. Open up heart2 from the scrapkit. Resize by 40%, smartsize. Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance 30, feather set at 20.00. Click in the middle of the heart. Open up your second tube of choice. Resize if necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste as new layer onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard 6-8 times. Deselect. You can colorize your tube if you like. Merge your heart layer and smaller tube layers together. Give your merged layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 20, Blur 4.00. Position to your liking. Open up a snow drift of choice. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Position the snow on the bottom ledge of the box. Give it the same drop shadow you gave your heart. Go to Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise --Gaussian ticked, Monochrome ticked, noise value 19. Grab your freehand selection tool, point to point, feather set at 20.00. Carefully select around the straight edges of the snow drift. Hit delete 3-5 times on your keyboard. Deselect. Open up icicles of choice from the kit. Resize by 48%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position the icicles on the top ledge of the box. Open up a ric rac of choice. Resize by 50%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a layer onto your canvas. Go to Image > Free Rotate. Rotate Left by 90.00, both boxes unchecked. Give the ric rac a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Duplicate the ric rac. Position them on the left side of the the box. Open up a flower of choice. Resize by 7%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Duplicate the flower 3x for a total of 4 flowers. Position them to your liking on the ric racs. Open up a bow of choice. Resize by 30%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 4.00. Position it to your liking. Open up a snowflake of choice. Resize by 80%, smartsize. Go to adjust > sharpen. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Give the snowflake a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the snowflake 3x for a total of 4 snowflakes. Position them to your liking. Add any other embellishments of your choosing. Highlight your white background. Grab your selection tool. Selection type: Rounded Rectangle, Mode: Add, Feather 0.00. Draw out a rectangle a bit bigger than your box (see my tag for reference.) Open up a contrasting paper of choice. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Open up another paper of choice from the kit. Resize, 69% smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. (CTRL+D) Give both rounded rectangles a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 15.00. On the bottom rectangle, go to image > free rotate. Rotate left by 10.00, both boxes unchecked. Position your rectangles to your liking. Highlight your white background. Open up glitter of choice. On your material's pallette, make it your foreground, angle 0, size 100. Add a new raster layer. Floodfill the new image with your glitter. Apply the Becky Mask: Source Luminance Fit to Layer Hide all Mask Delete the mask on your layer palette. Answer yes to the pop up box and merge the group. Resize the mask by 90%, smartsize. Position to your liking. Open up a paper of choice. Resize by 69%, smartsize. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply my snowflake mask, same settings as before. Delete the mask, answer yes, and merge the group. Crop and resize to your liking. Add your copyright info, text and watermark. Highlight the icicles layer. Go to Adjust > add/remove noise > add noise. Apply with the following settings: Gaussian Monochrome Noise 19 Copy merged. Open up Animation Shop. Paste as a new animation in AS. Back to PSP. Go to Edit > Undo Noise. Apply noise again but this time change the noise value to 28. Copy merged and paste after your current frame in AS. In PSP, Edit > Undo Noise. Apply Noise again, but change the value to 36. Copy merged and paste after your current frame in AS. In PSP, Edit > Undo Noise. Apply noise to the icicles again, but change the value to 25. Copy merged and paste after your current frame in AS. You should have a total of 4 frames. Optimize and save as gif.
