Soldier Chic

This tutorial was writtebn by me on 9 February 2009. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice. I am using the sexy artwork of Scott Blair. If you wish to use his artwork, you must purchase a license with MPT.
Scrapkit. I am using the awesome scrap Urban Chic by Candy's Treats. If you wish to purchase this scrap, you can here. Thank you, Diane!!
Template 121 made by me which you can download here.
Font of choice. I used Urab Sketch which you can download here.
Plugins:
Eyecandy 4000 - Gradient Glow
Penta Filters - Dot and Cross
Fm Tile Tools - Blend Emboss
No other supplies needed

Ok! Let's get started! Open up my template. Duplicate by holding down shift + d. Close the original. Delete the credit info layer.
Highlight the smaller circles layer. Go to selections > select all. Selections > float. Selections > defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect (CTRL+D). Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray smaller circles layer.
Highlight the bigger circles layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper of choice from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 70, Blur 10.00. Delete the gray bigger circles layer.
Highlight the double curved arrows layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Give the layer another drop shadow of H and V -1 Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Delete the dark gray double curced arrows layer.
Highlight the arrow doodles layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 75%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete and deselect. Give the layer a drop shadow of H and V 2, Opacity 70, Blur 3.00. Delete the gray arrow doodles layer.
Highlight the frame fill layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to selections > invert. Hit delete. Don't deselect.
Open up a bling from the kit. Resize by about 55%, smartsize. Go to adjust > sharpness > sharpen more. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Position to your liking within the selection. Hit delete. Deselect.
Highlight your frame layer. Select, float and defloat. Open up a paper from the kit. Resize by 70%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Selections > invert. Hit delete. Deselect. Delete the black frame layer.
Open up your tube. Resize as necessary, bicubic. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give your tube a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 10.00. Position to your liking within the frame. Duplicate your tube. Drag the bottom tube layer to right beneath your frame layer. (The top tube layer should be right above your frame layer) Grab your magic wand tool, tolerance set at 35, feather set at 0.00. Click inside the empty space of the frame. Go to selections > modify > expand by 2.00. Selections > invert.
Highlight your bottom tube layer. Grab your eraser tool, size 40, opacity 100. Carefully erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging over the frame. Deselect. Highlight your top tube layer. Erase the part of the tube you don't want hanging out of the frame.
Open up staples of choice from the kit. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give them a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 75, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the staples. Go to image > mirror. Position them to your liking on the double curved arrow.
Open up the star from the kit. Resize by 20%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of h and V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 3.00. Duplicate the star. Resize the duplicated star by 80%, smartsize. Duplicate the smaller star. Positioin them as in my tag above. Duplicate each of the three stars one time. Position them as in my tag above.
Open up a curly ribbon of choice from the kit. Resize by 65%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Go to image > free rotate. Rotate right by 90, both boxes unchecked. Apply Gradient Glow with the following settings (color white):
Position to your liking over your tube. Grab your freehand selection tool, type point to point, feather set at 2.00. Carefully select around the ends of the ribbon that are hanging over the frame. Hit delete and deselect.
Open up a stitched circle of choice. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 1, Opacity 85, Blur 2.00. Duplicate the stitched circle. Position them so that they frame the smaller circles. Drag both stitched circle layers to right above your white background (see my tag for reference)
Open up an oil paint of choice. Resize by 45%, smartsize. Copy and paste onto your canvas. Give it a drop shadow of H and V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 6.00. Duplicate the paint. Go to image > mirror. Then, image > flip. Position as in my tag above.
Add any other embellishments of your choosing.
Hide your white background. Merge your visible layers. Duplicate your merged layer. On your bottom layer, go to adjust > blur > gaussian blur. Apply with a radius of 15. Apply Penta Filters Dot and Cross with the following settings:
Apply FM Tile Tools Blend Emboss with the default settings.
Crop and resize to your liking.
Add your copyright info, watermark and your text. Save as JPG or PNG.
